Servants To the Least of These homeless outreach

New Member Readiness Program

  

· Interested persons will receive an email that will include information about “STLT’s History, Mission, Vision” and operations. 

· An assigned ministry mentor will follow-up with phone call to go over information in the email and answer any questions.

· Ministry mentor will set up a day/time for observing the Saturday ministry operations. Mentor will inform Min. Larry or Min. Sheila of the upcoming visit.

· Observation visit – Ministry mentor will be responsible for hands-on observation and explanation of all aspects of Saturday ministry (food distribution, Intercessory prayer/Salvation, and Clothing distribution).

· After observation visit, interested persons will receive an “STLT Ministry Questionnaire” to be completed and returned to Min. Larry Devereaux or Min. Sheila West.

o Please describe your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ

o Please share why you desire to be a part of this ministry

o Considering the mission and vision of the ministry, how do you feel you can best serve within the ministry?

o How may we assist you in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ?

· Once an individual is confirmed by Min. Larry Devereaux, he/she will receive an “STLT Ministry Commitment” form to be completed and returned to Min. Larry or Min. Sheila. This form shares ministry expectations that will help to bring about the mission/vision of the ministry. This form will be kept as apart of the STLT files.

· Ministry mentor will bring awareness to the various ways of serving within STLT by presenting “Ministry Opportunities.” Ministry mentor will answer any questions, and direct new member to the appropriate person to begin serving in the area of choice.

· Newly confirmed members will receive the following information via email.

o Closet Ministry items – a list of acceptable donations of clothing, shoes, toiletries, seasonal items, etc. This info can be shared with potential donors.

o Client Resources –this is a resource list of services provided to those persons experiencing homelessness. 

o Food Donations – a list of acceptable donations of non-perishable food

o Client Needs form – this form can be completed to show needs of our client such as clothing item (incl. size), toiletries, etc.

· Weekly Ministry Video-Conference Meeting – Held each Tuesday at 7:30pm via Google Meet. A member will be considered active and in good-standing if at least two meetings are attended each month. If circumstances do not permit you to attend at least twice/month, please notify a member of STLT leadership.  It is member responsibility to contact an STLT lead to remain informed. 

· Ongoing STLT Chat via Group Me – this forum is used to communicate messages during the week; all other information will be shared during the Tuesday Google Meet meeting.

· New Member Follow-Up – Assigned ministry mentor will follow-up with the new member over the next few subsequent weeks of initial serving. 

Servants to the Least of These Homeless Outreach Ministry Commitment

  

I agree to refrain from the use of inappropriate language, tobacco, alcohol and any other illicit drugs during our time of ministry.

I agree to conduct myself in a manner appropriate for an ambassador of Jesus Christ, which I am.

I affirm that I will not hold Servants to the Least of These Homeless Outreach Ministries or its designated Outreach leaders responsible for any accidents, injuries, illnesses incurred.

I will submit to the authority of the President & Founder, Min. Larry Devereaux, and his designated leader(s) to help ensure that STLT operates in excellence, integrity and to the glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will give every effort to cooperate with the other group members and work together as a team at all times as a member of STLT.

I commit to attending STLT meetings, STLT weekly video conference calls, and STLT events, as best I am able to do so. 

I commit to remaining faithful to the ministry assignment that I accept, until I notify leadership that I am no longer able to do so.

I commit to praying for those we serve and each other. 

I commit to being used by God to carry out the mission and vision of STLT praying that the God-given vision and mission will be realized in its fullest.

STLT Ministry Opportunities

 

o On-site Prayer, Intercession, Soul Winning 

o Discipleship (Bible distribution, other Biblical help material) 

o Food preparation 

o Food distribution 

o Closet ministry 

§ Assemble and distribute clothing, blankets, shoes, etc.

§ Assemble and distribute hygiene, toiletries, first-aid

§ Assemble and distribute misc. items

o Preparation and Distribution of resource information (financial assistance, housing, etc.) 

o Transition to Housing assistance 

o Fundraising 

o Advertising (Facebook, Website, etc., Ad Sponsorship) 

o Seminars/Classes (job readiness, resume writing, interview skills, Bible study, counseling, Home Economics) 

o Soliciting donations from individuals, organizations, etc. 

o Community Liaison
